Berwickshire News and General Advertiser – Visit by Lord Roberts

Lord Roberts and other officers will visit Hawick next week for the purpose of going over the ground acquired by the War Office at Stobs and surrounding district. The date of the visit is given as Wednesday, 31st inst. Inquiry is being made about utilising Lynnwood Mills as a barracks for the sappers and miners. The mills, which are about a mile out of Hawick, on the Stobs Road, are not tenanted.
