Berwickshire News and General Advertiser – Temporary railway station at Acreknowe

Arrangements have been made with the North British Railway Company for the military to build a temporary station at Acreknowe Farmhouse, about a mile below Stobs Station in connection with the camp.   Work to provide a new water supply to the camp from Barnes Burn will also be started with a large number of pipes already having been laid down at Stobs Station.  However, construction work on soldiers’ accommodation will be postponed until after the summer camps.
