The Southern Reporter – Former Stobs Prisoners to be liberated

28 October 1915
The authorities have decided to liberate the crew of a German steamer, who, after their vessel was sunk by a British patrol boat within Norwegian waters in July, had been detained at Stobs Camp for three months, and are now at Leith. The German steamer, which bore the name of the Friedrich Art, after its crew had been removed, was sunk by shell fire, and the crew was brought to this country. It has now been decided by the Government that that was an irregular proceeding, and it had been decided to set the crew free. They will probably return to Germany shortly, via Holland.
