The Scotsman – Escape of three German Sailors

Scotland Yard autorities officially announced last night that three German sailors escaped on Tuesday from the war camp at Stobs, near Hawick. Their names are Alfred Joksch, Emil Stehr, and Karl Villbrandt.

Scotland Yard also issued the following description of Alfred Joksch: — Height, 5 ft 51/2in; weight, 141 lb.; hair light, light moustache; brown eyes; no marks, no wounds; aged 26; boatswain’s mate from Blücher; speaks a little English; mother lives at Neukolln, Berlin suburbs; when in camp was always dressed in naval uniform; has probably obtained civilian clothes.
