Berwickshire News and General Advertiser – Berwickshire Battalion exercises at Stobs

18 July 1905

As part of the Scottish Border Brigade, the Berwickshire Battalion were engaged in a scheme of attack and defence with two companies under the command of Captain McDougall holding a position near Acreknowe while the remainder of the Battalion, under the command of Captain A N McDougal assisted by Captains Doughty and McCreath, attacked.   The action was superintended by Colonel Hope and Captain Alexander, Adjutant, with a visit by Brigadier Campbell.   The cyclists of Berwickshire Battalion under Lieutenant Wallace explored the country.
