Berwickshire News and General Advertiser – Army Service Corps start work on Stobs

26 May 1903

On Friday morning, two companies of the Army Service Corps arrived at Hawick Railway Station from Woolwich consisting of 81 men, 33 horses and seven transport waggons under the command of Capts. Lee and Hopkins.   Lieut. Colonel Morgan, stationed at Stobs Castle, was also present.  The majority of the men marched to Stobs with the remainder by train.   Tents have been erected and preparations commenced.
