    “Had a spiffing week, enjoying myself up to the mark. Plenty girls in Hawick, but of course I have nothing to do with them. Like Selkirk I would not like to stay here, too dry. This photo was taken after a march, the sun was in my face hence the expression.” At this time we are not sure which postcard picture should go with this message. Posted 06/07/1914.
