A YMCA Institute erected at Stobs Camp for use of the Supernumerary Territorial Force Companies (The Guard not PoWs) was opened on Friday afternoon. Building constructed of timber framing, weather boarded inside and lined throughout inside. The main hall is about 80 feet long with a platform at one end and service counter at the other. Behind a partition there is a kitchen with stores, pantries and managers room with sleeping accommodation in a side wing for the staff. The roof of the building is covered with red Ruberoid. Opening attended by Sir Andrew Pettigrew, President of Scottish National Council of YMCA, Lord and Lady Polwarth, Dowager Duchess of Roxburghe, the Duchess of Roxburghe, etc. Cost was c. £900.
