Kelso Chronicle – Monies recovered from Aliens being sent to Stobs Camp

£206 was found in June last year by a Railway porter. In May 2015 a number of aliens were arrested in Manchester and sent to Stobs Internment Camp where they arrived on May 15. Their property including money and valuables was wrapped in convenient packages, which were handed to military authorities at the railway siding at Stobs. Later it was reported that a sum of £220 in English money had been stolen most of it belonging to one alien. Subsequently various articles of other missing property were found at places to which the aliens had no access.
