Kelso Chronicle – Additional costs of Insane Alien prisoners of war

The Parish Council raised the question of the additional burden being charged due to the expense of maintaining (in the Asylum) insane alien prisoners of war transmitted from the Internment Camp at Stobs, the maintenance of which the Board (Roxburgh District Board of Control) were also jointly liable. However, subsequently recorded that HM Treasury had agreed to make provision for such cases.
