During July 1916 the civilian prisoners, including the founder and editor of the “Stobsiade” were moved to Knockaloe. Others took their place and decided to continue writing the “Stobsiade” but change it to meet the needs of the military camp. This is the first edition of the military paper but the fifteenth of the Stobsiade.
This edition begins with a poem called Homewards. It goes on to detail the objectives of the paper and mentions that the civilians were transferred. Our Camp library highlights the benefits of having a library and what material is held there. It states the intention of reporting on sports, Theatre, and Music, discussing several performances. It goes on to talk about the transfer of men from camps A & B to a summer resort. It ends with a Games Corner.
