Berwickshire News and General Advertiser – Death of Private Alcoran at Stobs

On Tuesday the funeral took place of Private David Nicol Alcoran from the Second King’s Own Scottish Borderers who died suddenly at Stobs from a heart condition.   His remains were transported to Edinburgh, accompanied by the Rev. J Stewart Kirkton, Chaplain to Stobs camp.   A military funeral was held at Comley Bank cemetery with an escort and firing party from the Seaforths and accompanied by two pipers.
