The Scotsman – Prisoners of War at Stobs regulations for the Camp

18 May 1915
Owing to the difficulty that has been experienced in keeping sight-seeing visitors away from the prisoners of war camp at Stobs, an order has been issued under the Defence of the Realm Regulations by Lieutenant-General Sir J. Spencer Ewart, Commanding the Forces in Scotland. The effect of this order is that the public are prohibited from approaching the camp nearer than a distance of a quarter of a mile from any side. The police in the district have also received instructions to give all assistance in the carrying out of the order.
