The Scotsman – Prisoners Camp at Stobs

23 December 1915

Sir, — All honour to the Y.M.C.A. for the notable work they have done in getting up canteens and rest houses for our soldiers and sailors. They are still appealing for subscriptions to carry on this excellent work. But is it true that they have erected a recreation hall or something of the kind inside the compound of the prisoners of war at Stobs? If it is true, does the man in the street think it right that they should divert their efforts from our own men to the prisoners of war and interned enemies? I ask for information whether the rumour that I have heard is true. — I am &c. Quondam Juvenis.
