Daily Record – Echo of the Blücher: survivors removed to Stobs Camp

11 March 1915

A detachment of 25 of the crew of the German cruiser Blücher were transferred from Edinburgh Castle to Stobs Camp yesterday evening.

They were under a guard drawn from the 1st Newfoundland Regiment, and the route to the Waverley Station was made in the most unostentatious manner.

The sailors, who were clad in civilian clothes, were those who have got the better of their wounds, and the effects of their immersion in the water when the Blücher was sunk.

They looked quite happy and unconcerned, and a number of them were smoking pipes and cigarettes. The most of them carried bundles.
