Berwickshire News and General Advertiser – Exemption for local man supplying Stobs Camp

A claim by a grocer in Hawick stated that he had a contract for the supply of goods to Stobs Camp, and the man claimed for was the only employee left to handle and deliver these. Before the War began he had 4 men in his employment. This was the only man left. The Local Tribunal had given 4 months’ exemption, against which decision the Military Representative appealed. The period of exemption was reduced to 3 months.
