Berwickshire News and General Advertiser – Borders recruiting march

13 July 1909

A contingent of 100 Royal Scots left Stobs camp, under command of Captain Pratt, on a march through Berwickshire, including Melrose, Gordon, Duns and Kelso.  Two companies of the Royal Scots (Lothian Regiment) also left Stobs, passing through Selkirk, Melrose and Earlston on the way to Gordon on what was regarded as a recruiting march being led by two pipers.
